Afghanistan. A land that time forgot. The west is trying hard to modernise it, to bring it par with the rest of the world, so that it does not become a shelter for Al Qaeda. It is a tall ask. A land which is fertile only for growing heroin. People who live in the twelfth century. Violence and barbarity is synonymous with Afghanistan.
There are no nice guys there. As the pictures below show. Whether it be the Taliban or the Northern Alliance which is an ally of the US and NATO and viscerally anti-Taliban. Both are equally brutal.

The Taliban are equally 'nice'. This is how they treat women.
