It happened during a car rally in the town of General Roca, Rio Negro province in Argentina in August 2009. A pack of wild horses happened to cross the path of the rally and one of the cars blew away one of the horses.
Argentine racing driver Federico Villagra crashed into a wild horse at full speed. The horse was thrown from the place of collision at nine meters, and soon the animal died from severe injuries.
Despite the incident, Villagra continued the race, losing time 30 seconds.
"The appearance of horses on the track for me was a complete surprise. One of them struck the windshield and flew over the car," recalls Villagra, who managed to got off lightly.
