The significance of the Battle Of Cambrai was that tanks were used for the first time in a major way (381 British tanks were used in the Battle Of Cambrai). Though the experience was not a great success but it proved one point clearly that tanks could break the deadlock of trench warfare. In all later campaigns the allies used tanks in increasing numbers.
