Images tell a lot. What it takes for a good imaginative writer to say in a thousand words, a single image says in a instant. Shown below are some pictures of German soldiers and Russian POW in the early days of the invasion of Russia. Some of the images seem to be staged but even they tell us something valuable about history.
The captured Russian seems to be saying something. The German listen with arrogance that comes only with victory, writ large on their faces.
This picture seems staged. Or may be the German is a good man. The German listens to the Russian who is badly injured and is in a lot of pain.
The Russians carry a wounded comrade. Or a dead comrade?
A German gives a wounded Russian some water to drink. Either Goebbels' men at work. Or this German is a good man.
The poor Russian is all worried as to what was going to happen to him. Wonder why he was kept alive. He was to be interrogated, perhaps?
